El español Antonio Puig fundó en 1914 la marca que llevaría su nombre, pero no fue hasta 1922 cuando creó su primer producto propio, Milady (primer lápiz de labios fabricado en España).

En 1940 se sacó al mercado uno de sus productos más importantes, Agua Lavanda Puig, fabricada íntegramente con productos nacionales. Pocos años más tarde, Antonio Puig delega en sus cuatro hijos (Antonio, Mariano, José María y Enrique). Con este cambio en la dirección de la empresa también se suceden cambios en la gestión de la misma.
